Various engagement activities and public events held across Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull during consultation.

At the Solihull PPG Network meeting, a presentation was given on how the CCG aims to improve patient participation followed by a Q&A session.   27/11/14        
             
Out of Hospital scoping workshop including Experts by Experience (patients & carer representatives) and key staff from Integrated Care and Support Solihull (ICASS) organisations investigating how to provide integrated health and care services that enable more people to be cared for in the community rather than in an acute setting, and maintain their independence for as long as possible.   22/11/14       This has informed a business plan going to the ICASS programme board.

  Consultation feedback and stakeholder workshops informed the service specification. New provider and changes to service from Apr 2015 - news communicated to all stakeholders in Jan 2015.
             
Putting Patients in Control (PIC) – a programme sponsored by NHS England to help CCGs develop commissioning that empowers patients and carers to manage their own health and care.    Apr - Aug 2014   Case study: Supporting people with heart disease   The programme was designed to help CCGs develop the learning, skills and ‘know-how’ required to transform the patient experience, better manage long term conditions and encourage prevention. The CCG was selected as an ‘early adopter’ by PiC and offered the opportunity for assistance with patient focus group work. The CCG has chosen to focus this work on self-management in older people with long term conditions and worked with the heart failure patient support group.  The PiC project helped the CCG to gather insight and build local understanding of what was important to patients to enable them to manage their long term condition more effectively.

Six CCGs across Birmingham, Solihull and Black Country (including Solihull CCG) consulted with the aim to provide a consistent fertility service across the area, which is equally accessible to people experiencing fertility problems, and to maximise their chances of becoming pregnant.   23/01/14 - 13/03/14   Assisted Conception Policy   The results of the consultation informed the recommendations and decision.
