The Stay Well This Winter campaign is visiting Touchwood in Solihull on 28th and 29th October as it drives home vital messages to the public. The National roadshow, organised by Public Health England and NHS England, will be moving its way across the Midlands in October, spreading the word about the annual flu vaccination programme.
The campaign is aimed at helping people prepare against the onset of winter and to raise awareness among those in key risk groups – such as adults aged over 65, those with a long-term health condition such as diabetes, stroke and heart disease, pregnant women and children aged 2-7.
Doug Middleton, Chief Operations Officer for NHS Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group is in full support of the health messages being delivered to the public at the Stay Well This Winter Roadshow and delighted it is coming to the town.
“It is important that members of the public in Solihull listen to the messages being shared at the Stay Well This Winter roadshow and I encourage them, if they can to go along and find out more.”
“Along with other staff at Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group, I had my flu vaccination this week. It’s quick, safe and I would urge anyone who is offered a free flu vaccination to visit their GP or pharmacy now.”
“It's an important, easy way to stay well this winter and you can get it at your GP or in select pharmacies.”
“By increasing the uptake of vaccination across Solihull we can reduce numbers attending both primary care and urgent care departments with flu and flu-like symptoms, and improve the health and wellbeing of the local population.”
