Organisers today released details of the finalists in the Solihull Together for Better Lives Awards 2015. The inaugural awards attracted over 50 nominations from individuals and organisations across the borough.
Winners in each category will be revealed at the awards ceremony on Thursday 19 March, which will be held at the Renewal Conference Centre, Lode Lane. The winner of the Chairman’s Award will also be announced. This special award will be given to an individual or group who, in the opinion of the judging panel, has best demonstrated outstanding commitment to improving the lives of older people in Solihull.
We've had a great response to the inaugural awards with a total of 54 individuals, teams and organisations nominated from the public, private and voluntary sectors as well as members of the public.
Please join us at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 19 March, 1.30pm – 4.00pm at the Renewal Conference Centre, Lode Lane and help us to celebrate the work of the finalists and winners who are improving the quality of life for Solihull's older residents.
Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group and Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust respective Governing Boards have reaffirmed their commitment to providing an Urgent Care Centre within the Solihull Hospital site.
Today's (4 March 2014) decision follows a rethink about the location of the centre – which was originally proposed to be within the accident and emergency department. However, investigations over the last few months revealed structural and operational problems in that area, which caused a delay in progressing plans until a new site was identified.
