NHS Solihull CCG has been rated in the NHS England Improvement and Assurance Framework for 2016/17 as Outstanding for Cancer, Good for Mental Health and Needs Improvement for Dementia. With regard to dementia we need to increase our diagnosis rates and are working with our GPs to achieve this. We have been working in ‘Financial Turnaround’ since the beginning of 2017 and recognise that despite the positives of our improving outcomes for health, our adverse financial position at year end has resulted in an overall CCG rating of inadequate.
For 2017/18 we have a significant financial challenge and are putting in place strong and detailed plans, working with NHS England, our local authority and health system partners in Solihull and Birmingham. Central to this system approach are our clinicians, who are leading on the redesign and delivery of a more sustainable NHS in Solihull. It should be noted that despite the financial challenges we continue year on year to deliver better health outcomes for our citizens.
We would like to thank our staff and partners for the significant progress that has been achieved to date and want to assure you that we have robust plans to improve our dementia rating and meet our financial challenges. We are confident that our plans will deliver improved outcomes as well as a more sustainable health service for the people of Solihull.
