A temporary GP walk-in centre will open in Chelmsley Wood over the Easter weekend.
Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has funded the service to be run from The Chelmsley Wood Primary Care Centre, Crabtree Drive, Chelmsley Wood B37 5BU.
The walk-in centre will be open from 9am to 6pm on the following days:
- Friday 3 April (Good Friday)
- Saturday 4 April
- Sunday 5 April (Easter Sunday)
- Monday 6 April (Easter Monday)

The temporary walk-in centre initiative follows the success of a similar service in Chelmsley Wood, which ran over Christmas. It will complement the existing GP walk-in centre based on the Solihull Hospital site.
Dr Sue Harrower, a partner at Coventry Road Surgery, Sheldon, and a member of the CCG’s Governing Body, said: “The temporary walk-in centre in Chelmsley Wood will give our patients greater choice over Easter and help reduce the demand on urgent care services, especially A&E.
“I would also like to remind people that A&E is for serious injuries and illnesses. There are many other options when they need help quickly: they can visit their GP, a pharmacy or a walk-in centre, call the 24-hour NHS 111 helpline, or visit the NHS Choices website.
